Ordinarily bases would be purchased when buying a lean to greenhouse, but not always so. If you buy your base with your lean to greenhouse the carriage cost of the base is absorbed in the delivery charge of the greenhouse. This is never FREE, as sometimes advertised, but will be built into the cost. Unfortunately when a lean to greenhouse base is delivered independently it attracts a separate carriage charge, and that cost is compounded because of the length of the base. Packages over 1.5 metres long attract a 'special' charge. By 'special' the carriers mean 'extra'. This why there is a £9.99 delivery charge for mainland England, Wales and parts of Scotland. An ADDITIONAL carriage charge applies outside these areas. Please see below. |
